Health and Safety
“Of course, when teams take pride in working safely, they invariably work very efficiently as well. Safe practice is a powerful motivator of high performance.”
– Dean Pouwhare – Operations Manager
D&H Steel is fully committed to the principles of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. We have implemented systems, from the factory floor, through to project delivery, to proactively identify and manage risks so all our staff work in a safe and healthy environment and go home free of harm.
The majority of our work requires us to work on sites managed by the main contractor. In this regard D&H Steel meets its obligations by working co-operatively and collaboratively to ensure both D&H Steel staff and other persons are not put at risk. Communication and keeping the right parties informed of our activities, applying the right site practices and continuous upskilling and health and safety training are entrenched in our safety culture.
We have an active Health and Safety committee that meets monthly and allows for two-way communication between the staff and the company directors. The committee reviews; certification, training, safety procedures and processes, performance, and incidents.
We have a comprehensive Health and Safety Manual audited to ACC’s Workplace Safety Management Practices and are Site Safe certified.
